What our Daily Rates Include

- Licensed Professional Hunter, Tracker, Skinners, All camp staff and Hunting Vehicles
- Accommodation on a full board basis, including: non alcoholic drinks and table beers / wine
- All meals and Snacks Included
- Transport to and from OR Tambo Int. Airport / Nearest Airport to Hunting Area
- Laundry service
- Field preparation of Trophies
- All Animals hunted / wounded that is not listed in the package, is deducted at 10% less than standard price listed on the pricelist.

- Wounded and lost game will be counted as a package specie acquired

Booking Procedures & Conditions

​

Once we have received your hunting enquiry, bookings can take place via your agent or directly with Roots of Africa Safaris 

​

Deposits

​

A BOOKING WILL ONLY BE HELD, once a minimum of 50% of the Total Daily Rates of the safari has been received as a deposit and a contract has been undertaken between Roots of Africa Safaris and the client.

A deposit confirms the booking, while trophy fees will be determined by the year in which the hunt takes place, UNLESS 100% of the day fee/s is settled which will lock trophy fees at those rates of the year in which a deposit is paid, UNLESS your contract states differently.

Package Hunts

​

A BOOKING WILL ONLY BE HELD, once a 50% deposito of the total package value has been received and confirmed.

Package hunts can be paid in full amount as confirmation of a booking.

A 50% deposit or full payment on a package hunt will lock the daily rates and package total in the year the booking is made, game prices are subject to change without prior notice.

All animals included in a package, that is not harvested will be deducted from the package total.

Animals harvested additionally from a package, will be levied at 10% less than standard price on the price list.

 

Payment

​

All outstanding daily rates will be settled at the end of your safari.

Trophy fees must be settled at the end of your safari before departure from Camp.

We do accept personal checks, cash, all mastercard & visa credit cards.

​Surcharges on Transactions

​

Credit Cards - A 3% surcharge will be levied on all credit card transactions.

Checks - A 1% surcharge will be levied on all cheque transactions.

Wire Transfer - Free - 0% Surcharge

Feel free to wire a projected total confirmed with the outfitter prior to the start of your safari, which can then be topped up at the end of your safari or refund

  • All listed animals inside of a package. Any animal on package not hunted will be deducted at 10% less than standard price on the price list.

Our Prices do not Include the following

​

  • All hard liquor beverages like Whiskey, Brandy, Gin etc

  • Flights to and from the OR Tambo Int. Airport and any Domestic flights

  •  Hotel accommodation before and after your Safari (Unless stated otherwise on contract or with the Outfitter)

  • Taxidermy Cost, Insurance & Shipping of Trophies

  • Dipping & Packing of Trophies

  • Personal expenses (Tips, Souvenirs etc.)

  • Day Fee/s for the day of arrival & day of departure.

  • Rifle hire and ammunition per safari if required.

  • Baiting fee/s where required.

  • A 15% Government-regulated Value-Added Tax (VAT) on all daily rates and services. This tax does not apply to game fees.

  • Gratuities for safari staff and Professional Hunters.

  • Meals and liquor outside of camps and hunting areas.

  • Daily trips and activities outside of camp.

Wounded / Hunted Trophies

​

Any animal wounded/killed found or lost, will be deemed as taken. The full trophy fee will apply for the animal.

​

Gratuities

​

Settling your bill for your safari with cash, credit cards and personal checks, it is not a problem, the tipping of trackers, camp staff and PH's must always be done in USD$ cash, as staff are often unable to exchange checks.

If you wish - Tips can be added to the final bill of the safari and tallied to your Safari total.

Check with your Professional Hunter what the norm is on tipping and at all times keep in mind a tip is a bonus greatly appreciated, but not expected.

Insurance

​

Roots of Africa recommends that ALL clients obtain travel insurance prior to their safari.

​

Cancellation Policy

​

In the event of a client canceling a safari less than 6 months prior to the commencement date of the safari, the deposit will be forfeited in total if the dates cannot be rescheduled to alternate dates within the same season, or the following season.

Safaris cancelled more than 6 months prior to the commencement date of the hunt will be refunded the deposit less 50%. This 50% will not be refunded, but can be applied to a future safari with alternate dates within the same season, or the following season.
